Am I a bad blogger? I haven't blogged in 10 days and I have visited Berlin, Potsdam, and Luneburg. And on top of that, I am leaving Hamburg today! Thus many people might say "Yeah, this kid is definitely an amateur blogger".
The last 10 days have been an absolute whirlwind of culture, learning, exploring, creating new relationships, and strengthening older relationships. I have been learning about myself and how I handle working and communicating with others and with my surroundings. I have been present and in the moment, trying to soak up every vibe I feel while meandering throughout Germany. I am physically exhausted at the end of everyday. I have walked and walked and walked until my feet can take me no further. I have been so deeply entranced by the beautiful sites around me that I am constantly tripping, running into things, or walking into traffic because I am not looking where I am going. I have laughed so hard with friends that my stomach aches and my eyes begin to water.

I wanted to sit down and do some heavy duty blogging today. I would have liked to document my time in Berlin, Potsdam, and Luneburg and blog about topics for Week 3 and 4 for my university assignment. And eventually I will get to write about these experiences, but today was not that day. I spent my time saying goodbye to the wonderful students I have worked with this past month. They were so sweet and I will miss these children very much. They are an amazing group of students who bring so much diversity into the classroom. It has been such a pleasure interacting with them and I have learned so much in my time with them.
After school, I then spent time enjoying the beautiful village of
Wilhelmsburg with my host family. We walked to dinner and they showed me the church where Smilla, my host sister, was baptized. It is a beautiful church.

We then went to a restaurant where my host parents had
their wedding party.
their wedding party.
Some of the highlights included me ordering an alstavasser
and my host brother Emile, clapping happily for me when I pronounced it correctly "in Deutsch" (which definitely called for a celebration because it was a rare occasion indeed). I ate a very "Hamburger" meal and I can't remember the name of it. Here it is though! It was a delicious combination of meat and potatoes with a fried egg on top.

It was the perfect end to the evening as we walked home and the sun began to shine as it was going down. This is very typical in Hamburg, to have it be cloudy and rainy all day and then in the early evening the sun will begin to shine through the clouds. I found it a perfect way to end my last evening here. When we headed inside, I stayed up talking with my host family. And I began to feel sad because I knew this would be the
last time we would have conversations together. I informed them of this and my host mother, Marianne stopped me. She explained that I should not be sad, but happy for the time we have had together and the memories we have made. And she, my friends, is 100% correct. I am so thankful for the time I have had here and will treasure this experience and carry it with me forever.

So let's look back, am I a mediocre blogger? Yes, probably so. I
have told nothing to argue that. But on the bright side, have I
whole-heartedly embraced everything Germany has had to offer me and had a heck of a lot of fun doing it?
Absolutely. And I would not have it any other way.
Tchuss for now!(:
